Baio’s acting days date back to his teenage years. When he signed up for “Charles in Charge,” he was already a heartthrob. “’Happy Days” came along when he was only 17, and he did the show’s spin-off “Joanie Loves Chachi”, which did not last long but added to his teenage idol status.

The actor also admitted that being a teen celebrity was an advantage. He did not consider himself the best or the worst-looking guy, but he knew he was reaping the benefits of being on TV.

Baio said he got so used to dating multiple girls that he was not bothered by the rejection. “it became a game, and I was good at the game,” he confessed.

Being a womanizer became part of Baio’s identity. In a documentary about the actor’s life, one of his co-stars from “Charles in Charge,” “Willie Ames, said Baio’s name was always connected to women.

According to Ames, there was even a Hollywood dating rule involving the actor, “I once told somebody I thought there was just one hard, fast rule in Hollywood—and that was if you were blond; first you date Scott Baio, and then you marry Tommy Lee,” she said.

However, the “Happy Days” star started changing his outlook on women when he realized his nonchalant attitude was hurting them.

Once hurting others’ feelings was brought to the table, he no longer enjoyed playing the game. They went their separate ways and reconnected sometime later, but Baio already knew that Sloan was not a woman he would quickly let go of.

However, Baio and Sloan had a challenging start to being parents. A few days after taking Bailey home, they were called into the hospital again because the doctors suspected that their daughter might have a rare metabolic disorder, glutaric acidemia type I, which would have been harmful to her brain.

Bailey was in the hospital for three months, and it was the worst time for Baio and Sloan, but fortunately, their daughter tested negative for the disease.
