Martin has been open about his simpler approach to anti-aging in his 50s. While promoting his comedy series “Palm Royale” in May 2024, Martin revealed that he had shaved for an entire year. He took this step to portray the charming attendant, Robert, inspired by Carol Burnett.

This transformation contributed to his youthful, fresh-faced appearance. When asked about his secret to a younger appearance, he replied, “Old melanin and good living. I can drink a lot of water. No drugs or alcohol. Maybe that’s what it is.”
Martin delved deeper into how he takes care of his face and body, recalling the struggles he faced with his skin during puberty. He explained that adding makeup to his skin issues made things worse, leading him to eventually start a self-care routine.

Now, he relies on several tools to maintain his complexion, such as drinking alkaline water, using eye pads, applying antioxidant moisturizer, and gliding ice cubes over his skin to boost circulation. For his hair, he finishes his routine with a spritz of Blind Barber sea salt spray.

Martin also added a matcha-infused ampoule from Kumiko to his routine. This is a skincare brand he’s partnered with. The actor believes self-care is all about self-love, and adds that taking care of oneself is, indeed, sexy.
Meditation has also helped Martin stay rooted in himself. He used to feel overwhelmed by the events in his life but when he discovered meditation during a trip to India years ago, it helped him find peace.
Today, even as he prioritizes parenting, he still carves out time for himself, waking up early and using the Headspace app to center himself. He noted, ” I wish I could be in lotus position for three hours a day. But 15, 20 minutes, half an hour… it really makes a difference.”
Through his dedication to self-care, Martin not only maintains his youthful appearance but also embraces a philosophy of self-love. He also proves that taking the time to care for oneself can be both rejuvenating and empowering.
