“Sister Wives” star Meri Brown unveiled her new carriage house in a recent episode of the reality show. The move marks a fresh start following her divorce from polygamist Kody Brown, paving the way for her independence.

Meri, Kody’s first wife of four, married him in 1990. The couple spent 32 years married and 35 years together, during which they welcomed a son, Leon Brown. Though they had been legally divorced since 2014, Meri revealed in an October 2024 episode that she officially ended their marriage through their church in early 2024.

The TV star has embraced peace following the end of her marriage. “I’m in a really good place. I feel very peaceful about our situation,” she shared on the show, though she noted Kody’s struggle with the split, calling him “mean.” “He clearly has a lot of internal that he still needs to work on,” she added.

During a candid one-on-one, Meri reminded Kody that she is no longer his wife and has no interest in spending time with him and his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, even during the holidays.

When Kody admitted uncertainty about their future relationship, saying, “I don’t know how we define ourselves with other each other from here,” Meri firmly responded, “We’re exes, let’s be real. You don’t need to worry about me.” She concluded the conversation by expressing, “I just wish you knew how amazing of a person I really am.”

During another meeting with her ex and Robyn, Meri revealed her plans to move out within weeks, prompting Kody to ask, “Why so early?” In a confessional, she expressed confusion over his reaction, noting that after years of pushing her away, he now seemed reluctant to let her go.

Kody, on the other hand, admitted privately that he felt her departure was for the best but refrains from sharing his true feelings with her, saying it’s not “safe” to do so.

Despite the emotional tension, Meri asked the father of her child for help with her move, including driving the moving truck, to which he agreed.

Jokingly, she called it her “severance package,” adding in a confessional, “I failed to ask for alimony when we got the legal divorce, so I’m kind of out that, so, you know, I’ve put 30 years into this, like, help me move and get out of here, then we’ll just be good to go. We’ll call it even.”

Meri’s new chapter has been supported by her close circle. On the November 3, 2024 episode of “Sister Wives,” she celebrated her 53rd birthday with a special gift—a renovated carriage house designed by her friends Blair Struble and Jenn Sullivan.

Once a simple “storage” area, the two-story house was transformed into a dual-purpose retreat, featuring space for Meri’s online clothing business and a personal gym.

Thrilled about the renovation, she expressed, “It was a cement floor and just basic walls. […] I have some high expectations for this. I have seen some of the work that Blair does. I am so excited to see this.”
